Jenkins Marine - Christmas Delivery (December 2011)

Jenkins Marine are delighted to announce the addition of Swanage to its fleet; a large 415m³ self propelled split hopper barge. Previously owned by Besix in Belgium and named Split 3 she was primarily used for Port construction work and will be completely refitted and updated on her arrival at Jenkins Marine's HQ.


She is Bureau Veritas Class approved for operation in Coastal waters and is surprisingly manoeuvrable for her size, being 115m3 bigger than Jenkins Marine's current split hopper barges Nab and Needles.

Currently being towed from her present location in Tangier, Morocco, Swanage is due in Poole at around Christmas and will be available to commence work in the new year.

Director Dan Jenkins said:

"She is a valuable addition to our fleet capable of accessing restricted sites, and ideal for capital and maintenance dredging, beach replenishment and coast protection projects."
